The House of Lords has now inflicted 14 defeats on the Government's Brexit bill. Some of these defeats are trying to reverse the fundamental objectives of Brexit rather than to clarify the finer points of the bill. In other words the House of Lords is not carrying out its role as a 'revising chamber' but is attempting to define policy. We think it is time to remind their Lordships who pays their expenses. Thanks to everyone who voted for UKIP at the local elections. In West Heath Chris Harding got 464 votes. In Cove and Southwood Jenny Parsons got 142 votes. In Blackwater and Hawley Mike Gascoigne got 86 votes. Unfortunately, this time round, this was not enough to return any UKIP councillors.
